Dear Parents,
It is hard to believe that January is over. I’m glad we still have four months left in school because there is so much left to learn and even more fun times to share.
Valentine’s Day will be celebrated on February 14 with a simple treat and drink at the end of the day. If your child plans to deliver valentines to classmates, please let him/her help with the writing as much as possible. They can all sign their own name and most will be able to use the list below to “address” the valentines. We will make a card holder in class and they may start bringing their valentines to deliver on February 8. If possible please have you child wear Valentine colors that day.
The students are excited about starting to learn how to read. We have been working on word families, rhyming words, and a few sight words. It really makes a difference when the concepts taught at school are practiced at home. Thank you for your help.
In February and March we will have visits from some of our community helpers. We look forward to those fun and educational opportunities.
I will work on student evaluations this month with a one-on-one time to see what skills you child has accomplished. There are so many! You should be very proud. I look forward to speaking with you about your child’s progress the first week of March. I will be having Parent/Teacher conferences before and after school March 5-8. Be looking for the conference sign-up list on the bulletin board.
Have a great week and God Bless!
Mrs. Rives and Mrs. Jones
