February Newsletter

Wow, it’s February already! I hope everyone is working on their Valentine Boxes. I sent home directions and a class list for Valentine’s Day. If you need another copy or did not get one please let me know and I will send one home with your child. Have fun with this project and remember it doesn’t have to be fancy.

This month, we will have show and tell every Tuesday, starting February 7^th. Please help your child choose one item each week to bring and share with the class. The item will be placed in your child’s backpack when show and tell is done.

Along with the things mentioned in my newsletter, we also work on core knowledge skills. Be sure to check out these skills on the website. Keep in mind that they change each month so check them often.

We have a book of the week each week that is listed on the website under 3 year olds. This month we will be reading The Jolly Postman, George and Martha and various Valentine books. These change each week along with our nursery rhymes and Bible stories.

Thank you to the parents who have sent in snacks. The children really enjoy snack time. It is a fun time for them to talk to their friends and also to Mrs. Marshall and myself.

Typical Daily Schedule:

9:30 Arrival: put belongings in cubbies; find name on carpet

9:45 Circle Time: morning songs, calendar, daily helpers, pledges, memory verse and Bible story, review daily schedule.

10:00 Chapel or Show-n-Tell or Music/Movement, depending on the day of the week.

10:30 Group craft; puzzle time when completed. Core Knowledge skills.

10:50 Centers and individual craft time

11:40 Book of the Week

11:50 Lunch/potty break

12:20 songs/movement/games

12:45 recess with sister classroom

1:15 Prepare to leave; story time and review of day.
